It's a long time since such a big fuss has been made about such a small speaker. Neat's astonishing new IOTA is not much bigger than a family pack of yoghurt, yet delivers true audiophile performance in a way that virtually no other speaker of its size can match.

The IOTA is intended for use very close to a rear wall, either on its custom stands / wall brackets, or on a bookshelf / desktop, where a regular sized speaker would be too large. The IOTA achieves its amazing performance thanks to some radical thinking. The speaker sits horizontally (as shown in the picture) rather than in the usual vertical position. This allows Neat to use an ultra-high performance 50mm vertical planar magnetic ribbon tweeter, in combination with a powerful 100mm low-distortion ferrite bass unit, both of which they've just about squeezed into the IOTA's tiny, thick-walled, high grade MDF cabinet.

The result is a speaker that truly sparkles in almost any system. It looks great too, being available in a variety of different finishes, including white. Our only proviso would be that if your room will take a slightly bigger speaker, then Dali's Outstanding Menuet offers stiff competition, albeit at a slightly higher price. The Menuet sounds even better than the IOTA, is marginally larger, is also available in white (including the option of a white grille) and also has an excellent custom wall-bracket, for flush wall mounting.
